Stephen Ministry is a confidential, supervised, one-on-one caring ministry for those who need the loving support of a Christian Friend. A Stephen Minister is a lay person who completes a minimum of 50 hours of training to learn to be a Christian friend to a hurting person. A Care-receiver is the person who is hurting because of one of life's challenges and can benefit from someone to listen, share his pain, and help him know the Lord, who will help him to be whole again.

The Stephen Ministries Training Program is a structured program offered at our church. The program was developed by Ken Haugk, a pastor from St. Louis, Missouri, who wrote the program in 1976 and provides our Church support materials to implement the Program. There are 11,000 churches worldwide that participate in this non-denominational, caring giving program.
