Chris comes to us from First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, OH where he served as Associate Pastor of Youth and Discipleship for 7 years. Chris earned his Bachelors degree in Political Science and History from Hiram College in 1998. He went on to earn his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary. He is currently studying for his Doctor of Ministry through Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
His wife, Jeannelle, is a classically trained soprano and a board certified music therapist. She teaches voice lessons and provides private practice music therapy to a variety of patients. Together, the Beneks are in the process of adopting a baby from Ethiopia. |

Betty and her husband Bob moved to Hilton Head Island from St Louis MO in 1991 and joined Providence Presbyterian Church in 1992. They have one grown son who continues to live in St Louis. She was elected an elder in 1993 with the responsibility for Adult Education.

Betty began attending Lay Pastor's School on week-ends in 1993. While continuing her Elder responsibilities at Providence, Betty also began to hold Sunday Services at Broad Creek Care Center (located on TidePointe property) and continued from 1994 to 2000. Betty completed Lay Pastor's School, was commissioned a Lay Pastor and was dedicated at Providence Presbyterian Church as Parish Associate in 1999.

Betty's Sunday's are filled with two services; TidePointe, a private retirement community operated by Hyatt at 10:00 AM and at Palm Meadows Assisted Living Facility at 11:00 AM. She has conducted and assisted with numerous Memorial Services. Betty has preached the sermon at Providence four times.

And last but certainly not least Betty has spoken at many churches in the Presbytery and other gatherings on "Being a Cracked Pot", a personal, humorous, spiritual journey. Anyone who personally knows Betty knows that these talks are very humorous as well as a witness to a very good example of a member of Providence that certainly Causes God Joy. |

Paul's family been blessed by the addition of a wonderful church family that they have found at Providence. Elizabeth, Paul's wife, is an occupational therapist. They have two children, Lucas and Sarah. Paul began his ministry at Providence on June 1, 2006.

He has served churches in Houston, Texas, Longview, Washington, and Gig Harbor, Washington. His classical musical training is in voice, and he holds a Master's of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Washington, as well as a choral degree from Pacific Lutheran University, also in Washington state.

He has sung leading baritone roles in opera houses in the Pacific Northwest and in New York City, where he debuted as Melchior in Amahl and the Night Visitors at the Danny Kaye Theater. He is also a cellist, and played two seasons with the Tacoma Symphony Pops orchestra.

In May of 2006, Paul was named the Worship Leader of the Month in Houston, Texas, for his leadership in Contemporary Worship. His earnest desire is to worship and glorify Jesus Christ in music, and to facilitate others to do the same. |

Jill began working at Providence in January 2007. She moved to the island in 2005 after graduating from Hope College in Holland, MI. Before being called to the church, Jill was a middle school social studies teacher at Hilton Head Middle School. She and her husband William were married on the island in April 2006. The Farrars have no children except for their two Great Danes, Charles and Hinckley.
She is a firm believer in God’s timing and knows her being at Providence is nothing short of divine intervention. She is blessed to be able to work with all of the children at Providence and cannot wait to see what God has planned for them.
In her spare time, Jill enjoys going out on the boat with her boys or simply being outside. She also enjoys getting back to her first love, horseback riding. No matter what she’s doing however, she always seeks to Cause God Joy.

Linda is the director of Providence Children's Center. She started this position in January 2004. Before that, she was the Assistant Director for three and one half years. She says she "enjoys working with staff and children in a Christian environment".

Linda lives on the Island with her husband Len. They are members of Providence Presbyterian Church. They have 3 children. Krissy, 23, is the assistant women's tennis coach at Washington State University. Matthew, 22, graduated from The Citadel in May and is now in the Army in officer's training at Fort Benning in Georgia. Andrew, 17, graduated from Hilton Head High School and will be attending Wofford College in the fall 2004

Gloria was born in Atlanta, GA on September 16, 1933. Her childhood was spent in the south. Then, after her first marriage, she lived in many areas; New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and finally back to the deep south, South Carolina. In 1977, Gloria's first husband was killed at age 42 leaving her with 4 children to raise (the oldest 18 years old and youngest 12). Eleven years later, John Scott came into her life, and they were married in 1988. Gloria's family has increased to 8 children, 17 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren! "What a blessing they are to me!", Gloria adds.

Her duties at Providence are working with the Membership Elder; visitor input for the Automated Church System; changes in member status, i.e. addresses, transfers of membership, deaths, etc; processes memorials and honors donations; keeps records for Shepherding Groups, making sure that group leaders are advised of changes and additions; makes changes and prints new address and e-mail directories for distribution.

Jenny and her husband, Craig, have one son, Noah. They moved to Moss Creek in 2004. She likes to fish, crab, sew and work on remodeling their house.

Robin began as a receptionist at Providence in 2004. She works at the front desk, answering phones, assisting visitors, members and working with the staff on various general day to day operations.

Robin, husband Paul and 4 children have called Hilton Head Island home for 38 years. They have 8 grandchildren some still on the Island others in various parts of North and South Carolina. Robin, an interior designer by trade, has also owned several businesses on the Island one being Hilton Head Central Reservations one of the first central reservation services in the country. Robin considers her family her most rewarding and most challenging accomplishment and feels blessed to be part of the Providence Presbyterian Church staff.

Brian was born in Akron, Ohio in 1966. He has been married to Stefanie for 18 years and they have three children: Sara, age 16, Samantha, age 15 and Sofie, age 13.

He is a licensed Realtor in SC and Ohio and has worked as a

Brian joined Providence Presbyterian Church in 2003. He and his family live in Sea Pines where Brian enjoys playing with his kids, golfing, swimming, and biking.
